Stephanie Horowitz made her GASLOCOLI debut in 2007's Princess Ida. Ms. Horowitz is a recent graduate of the New England Conservatory of music in Boston, MA where she received a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance. For her studies there, she was awarded the Wayne Newton Music Scholarship. As a member of N.E.C.'s Opera Studio, Ms. Horowitz sang the role of Noemie in Massenet's Cendrillon which earned her a positive review in the Boston Globe. Originally from Long Island, Ms. Horowitz earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. There, as part of the Crane Opera Ensemble, she played the roles of Frenchie in Cabaret, the First Lady in The Magic Flute, Emma Goldman/ housewife in Assassins, and a Brat / ) Mrs. Which in Libby Larsen's A Wrinkle in Time. In May of 2005, Ms. Horowitz received first place in the Five Towns Music and Art Foundation's young artist competition. Recent NYC operatic appearances include the role of Marguerite in Faust with Operesque Classical Concerts, featured soloist in the "2006 Manhattan Mozart Marathon," and the role of the Second "Cercatrice" in Suor Angelica with the Opera Company of Brooklyn. She was also featured in the "Cabaret Kickoff Concert" for the new Opus NY theatre. She would like to thank the cast and crew of Ida for their support and dedication. Enjoy! |
